What makes advertising across the 6sided blog network so cost-effective is that you only pay for actual visitors to your website.

Most wargaming/minatures-orientated websites who offer advertising tend to use one of three advertising models:

1. You pay for your advert to be shown on their site for a set amount of time.
2. Your advert is shown a certain number of times (impressions) for a fixed cost.
3. Your advert is displayed more often if you pay for a higher "weighting".

The problem with all three of these methods is none of them guarantee's you a single visitor for your money! You are paying for the number of times your ad is shown, the length of time your ad is shown, or the frequency your ad is shown.

We use a "pay per click" system. You therefore only pay when someone clicks on your advert to visit your site. This makes it extremely cost-effective advertising. The other ways outlined above only guarantee your banner advert will be shown.

That is why our advertising option is such a great option for gaming companies - you only pay when someone visits your site. It is the fairest, cheapest way to advertise and in these trying times, it is the best way of maximising your advertising budget.

Please can you explain how it works in more detail.
After you create an account, the first thing is to add some money to your balance. This is done securely and in a few clicks through Paypal. You can then begin creating unlimited adverts.

For each advert, you upload a 468x60 pixel banner ad image and type in the URL (webpage) you want people to be taken to when they click on your ad and enter the number of clicks you want to allocate to that ad variation. Each allocated click deducts 5 cents from your central account balance. You can at any time cancel a click allocation. The site will convert the returning clicks back into a monetary total and add it to your account balance. So you are always in complete control of your account funds.

You then also select a "zone" that you would like your banner ad variation to be displayed in. When a blog is created in the 6sided network, the owner has to categorize what their blog is mainly about, for example "Warhammer 40k". All similarly categorized blogs create a "zone". Your ad will be displayed across every page of every blog in that zone in equal rotation with other advertisers.

Every time someone clicks on your banner, a click is deducted from the total allocated to that banner. So you only ever pay for real visitors and you only spend the money you allocate as clicks to the banner. That means complete control over your ad budget and it means if you forget your account for a while, you know that your unallocated funds are safe.

How much does it cost?
Each click you allocate to a banner deducts $0.05 from your central account balance. So $1.00 will get you 20 clicks and the CPC (cost Per Click) is always 5 cents. 20 guaranteed site visitors for $1 is great value.

Can I get Help If I Need it?
In every member account is a dedicated help page that contains answers to most questions as well as a form to contact us directly via email.

I need invoices for my accounts.
When you top-up your account balance, you can view that transaction in your account. You can click a link to download a pdf invoice of that transaction as well.

Is there a limit to how often my ad will be shown?
As long as you have at least one credit available for a banner, it will be shown across the 6sided blog network. The more advertisers there are in a zone, the fewer times each ad will obviously be displayed.

How much display capacity do you have?
We currently have around 200 blogs, with more than 60,000 pages of content that is all about historical gaming, Warhammer, RPG and Sci-Fi gaming. There are approximately 110,000 page views across the network per day. So our maximum capacity is about 110,000 banner impressions daily. This is growing all the time, so the capacity to show ads and get clicks for advertisers is high and improves all the time.

Can I see stats on how my ads are doing?
In your account, for each banner and your account as a whole, you can see detailed text and graphical stats. You can see how many impressions an advert receives, how many clicks it has had and even its CTR (Clickthrough rate - the percentage of clicks to impressions). You can see when the last impression was and when the last click was obtained. This allows you to create several ad variations, allocate clicks to them and then monitor them using the stats. You can at any time pause or delete an advert and reallocate clicks, so using the tools available you can see what adverts get the most clicks and channel your clicks to those ad variations.

Can I advertise on the main 6sided.net website?
the main 6 sided site is an advertising zone in its own right. You can select to display banners on our main site, which appear at the top of every page next to our logo. In addition when you select to advertise in the main 6sided.net zone your ads will also appear in every single listing in our gaming directory at directory.6sided.net.

Is my money safe here or will you run away and buy a beach house with the millions?
Wargamesadvertising.com is owned by the same two guys, Jaz & Ian who run 6sided.net. We setup the advertising on a seperate domain in case we wanted to advertise it as a service in its own right, or expand it to allow advertising on sites outside the 6sided network in the future. 6sided has been going for a year now (Feb 2011) and has more than 500 members and 200 active bloggers. We love the hobby and want 6sided to be a credit to it. As running 6sided costs us money each month, getting people to advertise is key to growing and improving things for our blog owners. So running off with your money would not really help our aims.

This advertising thing sounds complicated.
It's really not. Once you have spent a few minutes in your account testing banner creation, you will see how easy it is. It also gives you maximum control over your advertising budget. It may by more involved that simply paying for your banner to be shown for a month, but once you get going you will wonder why you threw cash away doing that.

Remember - it doesnt matter if your advert is displayed a million times if nobody clicks on it, that just means a net ROI of zero. That cannot happen using our service. Yes it can also be about brand awareness and someone can see your ad, not click on it and still visit later. You get that advertising on 6sided, but you only pay when someone clicks.
